The pickup coils test correctly with an ohm-meter but, I can't get it to start and Social Security gave me enough money to buy a new bike so I'm selling the xs.
I've been needing to charge the battery about every 8 days. The regulator tests OK so I can't understand where my voltage has been going. On April 14th I rode it to the dentist and it ran fine but, I had to push it home. I got it started yesterday but, it's making quite a bit of valve noise. One lifter guide was damaged when a shim cracked about 10 years ago. Consequently, #4 cylinder gets too much oil in it and makes too much noise. I've seen new heads for around $100.00 on ebay and mine are polished inside.
Bike has 1196cc Wiseco pistons and Jardine headers, tank is custom painted and I put new main bearings in it about seven years ago. The piston end of the #4 rod ought to be replaced. The engine is mounted on titanium so that it doesn't fit loosely in the frame. It gets about 50 miles to a tank of gas in the city so you won't lose many drag races on it. I don't have room to store it where I live.
