This 1975 Yamaha RD350 was purchased as a disassembled project five years ago and subsequently rebuilt as a cafe racer-inspired show bike. Power is from a rebuilt 350cc two-stroke twin with new crank seals, Wiseco pistons, ported reed cages, a Banshee boost bottle, Powerdynamo battery-less ignition, and more. Shifting is through a six-speed transmission using a close ration RD400 gear set, and the bodywork has been modified with a custom tank, seat pan, and competition-style fairing.
Bodywork is finished in white with blue striping and includes an Airtec fairing as well as a custom-fabricated seat pan. The fuel tank was sourced from a Yamaha RD400, stretched 4? to include an oil tank, and fitted with an FZR600 fuel cap and a T500 oil cap. A transparent windscreen is currently installed, and an additional smoked version will also be included.
The front suspension features Racetech springs with FK emulators and adjustable fork caps. The brake rotors and calipers were sourced from an FZR1000 and mounted with a custom adapter and stainless steel lines. The rear swingarm is fitted with brass bushings and Ikon adjustable shocks. Folding Tarozzi rearsets are mounted with custom brackets.
The 350cc 2-stroke twin was rebuilt with new pistons and crank seals as well as an EBC clutch, and is paired with a close-ratio six-speed transmission sourced from an RD400. Modifications include:
+1 over Wiseco pistons
Boyesen reed valves with modified cages
RZ350 intake manifolds
Banshee boost bottle
Powerdynamo battery-less ignition system
Moto Carrera expansion chambers
This RD350 was twice awarded Best Cafe Racer at the Barber Vintage Motorcycle Festival and is offered with an additional smoked windscreen, build receipts, and a clean Washington title.
Asking price $6,500
